One Month (or so) In
It has been an interesting November, with sales largely coming from friends and family through my website. I’ve also had some Amazon sales too and it all helps (as do reviews on Amazon). Thanks to everyone who bought a copy (or more than one copy in some cases). You are all kind and very generous.
I’ve also been doing the rounds a little, with some success in Fownhope, Worcester and Hay-on-Wye, that have resulted in offers to take stock of my book. Sadly (oddly?) not a lot of movement in Hereford yet. Although, I’m still chasing down Hereford library - who have expressed a wish to accept my offer of a free book for the library. But that’s another story.
I’ve gone some way towards writing content for this website about my experiences in selling and distributing, but I’m still checking out the “distributor” process. Hopefully this will kick into life in the next few days with my first order expected soon through this process. I’ll publish my findings when things have settled and I have an opinion on the various ways of getting my book into people’s hands.
If anyone wants to test out the Waterstones’ process, which I think should work, please feel free to pop in to your local Waterstones and order a copy. How profitable/practical this process is I’ll figure out and let you know. But if you don’t try….
A huge thank you to all the support so far and, hopefully, I’ll soon be thinking about replenishing my stock levels that are slowly but surely reducing.
